ABOUT EXAM

University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national-level exam conducted in order to determine the eligibility of candidates for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor Posts in Indian universities and colleges.  UGC NET is a single-day computer-based test conducted in two parts, i.e., Paper 1 and Paper 2 for 300 marks (Paper 1 - 100 marks and Paper 2 - 200 marks). UGC NET exam is taken for 83 subjects at different exam centres across India.

HOW TO APPLY FOR UGC NET 2024

The UGC NET 2024 application process has already begun, and the last date to apply is April 20, 2024. To apply for the exam, candidates must visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) at https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in/.

Application Process

To apply for the UGC NET exam, candidates must follow these steps:

• Visit the official website of the NTA and click on the "Apply Online" link for the UGC NET exam.
• Register yourself by providing your name, email ID, mobile number, and password.
• After registration, log in with your credentials and fill in the application form.
• Upload scanned images of your photograph and signature as per the required specifications.
• Pay the application fee online through the available payment modes.
• Review the application form carefully and make corrections, if required.
• Submit the application form.

UGC NET application fees are different for different candidates and this difference is based on different categories of candidates.

SELECTION PROCESS: -

UGC NET Paper 1 2024 – SELECTION PROCEDURE

The selection of candidates for the UGC NET exam is based on their performance in the exam only. There are no further rounds of selection, such as interviews or group discussions.

The UGC NET exam consists of two papers:-

Paper 1: General Teaching and Research Aptitude (50 questions)

Paper 2: Subject-Specific Paper (100 questions)

• To qualify for the UGC NET exam, candidates must score at least 40% in each paper and an overall score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates).
• The top 6% of the candidates who qualify for the UGC NET exam are awarded Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs). The remaining qualified candidates are eligible for the post of Assistant Professor.
• Once the UGC NET results are declared, universities and colleges across India use the scores to shortlist candidates for interviews and appointments to teaching and research positions.

UGC NET 2024 Admit Card

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released UGC NET 2024 Admit Card on ugcnet.nta.nic.in. All the Eligible Candidates, who had enrolled for the UGC NET 2024 Examination, can check the details for the Admit Card by clicking on the link which will be updated here.

How to Download the UGC NET Admit Card

To download the UGC NET admit card, candidates can follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website of the NTA.
2. Click on the "UGC NET" link.
3. Click on the "Download Admit Card" link.
4. Enter your application number and date of birth.
5. Click on the "Submit" button.
6. Your admit card will be displayed on the screen.
7. Download and print your admit card.

UGC NET 2024 Answer Key

After completion of the entrance exam, the board will publish the UGC NET 2024 Answer key. Candidates will be able to download the Answer key online mode. The Answer key will be released for both papers – I and II in various sets containing all the right answers of the questions asked in the exam paper. Candidates can also challenge the answer key in case they are not satisfied with the answers given in it. After considering the challenges, a final answer key will be released by the board.

UGC NET 2024 Result

After the completion of exams and the release of the answer key, the board will announce the result. The results will be released once the exam has been conducted. Students can check their results online mode by submitting their roll number and date of birth. Only the candidates who will qualify for the test by securing the cut-off marks will be called for the counseling process.
