ABOUT EXAM
KCET 2024: Karnataka Common Entrance Test commonly known as KCET is regulated by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). It is conducted for admission to the professional courses like Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharma), Diploma in Pharmacy (DPharma), Agriculture courses (Farm Science) and Veterinary courses.
KARNATAKA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (KCET)
The Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2024 is being conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates and the ward/s of Jammu & Kashmiri Migrants to the First Year or First Semester of full time courses for Government share of seats in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Bachelor of Yoga and Naturopathy (BNYS), Farm Science courses i.e., Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.), B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc.(Hons) Sericulture, B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture, B.Sc (Hons) Forestry, B.Tech.Biotechnology, B.Sc. (Hons) Community Science, B.Tech (Agri.Engg), B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B.F.Sc.(Fisheries), B.Sc. Hons) Ag.Business Management, B. Pharma and Pharma-D course, in Government / University / Private Aided / Private Un-Aided Professional Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka for the academic year 2024-2025.
For admission to Medical or Dental or Ayush courses candidates have to appear for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) - 2024 conducted by CBSE.
For admission to Architechture course candidates must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

KEA KCET Eligibility:-
No candidate shall be eligible for admission to Government Seats unless he is a citizen of India.
A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, i.e., 2nd PUC / 12th Standard in 2024 whose result is awaited, may apply and appear for Common Entrance Test 2024 but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to any of the course specified in 1 above, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks.
KEA KCET Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech): Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages, Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics /Computer.
Only on the basis of marks obtained in PCM in CET. (No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET.)
A candidate who has passed the Q. E. with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology /Electronics / Computer Science as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study.
Provided that, the marks obtained by the candidate in Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics /Computer Science in the Q. E., will be considered in place of Chemistry, in case the marks obtained in Chemistry is less for required aggregate percentage, only for the purpose of determination of eligibility and not for the purpose of determination of rank, in respect of Engineering / Technology courses.
Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in Common Entrance Test, Engineering rank list will be prepared and published.
KEA KCET Farm Science Courses (B.Sc Agriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agri Biotech, B.H.Sc (Home Science), B.Tech (Agri.Engg), B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Tech (Dairy Tech), B.F.Sc (Fisheries), B.Tech (Food Science &Tech)., B.Sc. (Hons) Agri. Marketing & Co-Op. : Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects
KEA KCET Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H.): Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects (40% for SC/ST/Cat-1, 2A, 3A and 3B category candidates)
Only on the basis of marks obtained in PCB in CET. (No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET.)
KEA KCET B-Pharma: Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. OR
Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
Only on the basis of marks obtained in PCM or PCB Subjects (whichever is higher) in CET. (No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET.)
KEA KCET 2nd Year B.Pharma: Passedin Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
Only on the basis of marks obtained in PCM or PCB Subjects (whichever is higher) in CET. (No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET.)
KEA KCET Pharma-D: Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. OR
Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
Only on the basis of marks obtained in PCM or PCB Subjects (whichever is higher) in CET. (No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET.)
KEA KCET Naturopathy & Yoga : Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study is eligible for admission to Naturopathy & Yoga courses.
Only on the basis of marks obtained in PCM or PCB Subjects (whichever is higher) in CET. (No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET.)
IMPORTANT Note: IF the qualifying marks change due to any reason after verification of documents or allotment of a seat, and candidate becomes ineligible due to change of qualifying marks, it is the responsibility of candidate to inform KEA authority for withdrawal of rank or cancellation of rank or for cancellation of a seat allotted if any. Neither KEA nor Government will take the responsibility if the candidature or seat is rejected by any University / Competent Authority due to non-eligibility for a particular course in the future. Further, the seat allotment made by KEA shall be subject to approval by the concerned University / Competent Authority.

KEA does not verify the information provided by the candidates during online application /registration and hence candidature is purely provisional subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria of MCI / DCI / AICTE / COA / State / Universities / Institutions / Deemed Universities concerned.
Candidates have to enter the application details through online to become eligible for admission to Professional Courses through Karnataka Examinations Authority. There is no pen and paper form.
