ABOUT EXAM

The CAT, or Common Admission Test (CAT Full Form), is a national – level MBA Exam conducted by IIMs on a rotational basis. This year, IIM Lucknow is going to conduct the CAT entrance exam for MBA admission. The CAT 2024 entrance exam will initiate the short listing process of MBA aspirants who wish to join IIMs for an MBA. The exam conducting body IIM Common Admission Test has realised the CAT 2024 notification on 1st of August 2024 IIM Lucknow is the conducting body of CAT 2024 exam. The registration process will start from 1st of August 2024 and will continue till 13th September 2024.

According to the official CAT Exam Eligibility 2024, there is no maximum age for taking the test. As there are no restrictions on maximum age, candidates who desire to apply for CAT 2024 should only review the other CAT Eligibility criteria. Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks (45% in case of SC, ST, and PWD/DA category). The detailed CAT eligibility criteria are given below.

CAT 2024 SELECTION PROCESS

Every IIM and MBA college may have different admission processes which may include short listing of candidates based on Common Admission Test 2024 score, WAT and GD/PI. Basically CAT exam conduct in these 3 stages-

• Written Ability Test (WAT)
• Group Discussion (GD)
• Personal Interviews (PI)

CAT exam scores are accepted by all CAT institutes that include both types IIMs and Non-IIMs. Some of the Non-IIMs institutes accepting CAT scores include 6 IITs, IISc Bangalore, NITs, JNU, IMT Ghaziabad, IPU, MDI Gurgaon, and SPJIMR Mumbai.

HOW TO APPLY

Documents required for Common Admission Test Registration  

CAT online registration and filling of application form -

• The initial step to apply for CAT 2024 is registering on the official web site. Following steps should be followed by the candidate:-
• The candidate should open the official CAT web site – iimcat.ac.in
• Then click on the “New Candidate Registration“
• The candidate is additional needed to fill within the details like Name, date of birth, email ID, phone no, and status
• following step is clicking on “Generate OTP“
• Once, the registration is fortunate, the candidate can receive AN OTP on their registered mobile no and has got to enter this OTP to verify their CAT registration.

After verification, a user ID and countersign are going to be sent on the candidate’s registered email ID and mobile no. The candidate caught to log in once more with the user id and countersign to fill application form. CAT REGISTRATION FEES 2024

CAT registration fee can be paid via Debit Card. Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or online wallets. The fee has been increased this year as well.

CAT 2024 TEST CENTRES

There will be around 170 test cities where the CAT will be administered. The CAT website will include the test cities, and the admit card will list the exam center's name.

IIMs maintain the right to modify any exam centre, city, or time, as well as to add or remove any candidates date as they see fit.

CAT 2024 ADMIT CARD

The Common Admission Test 2024 admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam centre, thus candidates must download it before going to the exam center. It is advised to download two copies, as one copy is to be submitted at the exam centre. The CAT 2024 admit card will be released on November 04, 2024. It will have test centre location, exam slot, reporting time and other related information printed on it. Here’s the process to download the CAT admit card 2024:-

• Click on 'login' tab
• Enter CAT 2024 application number and password
• Go to 'admit card' section
• Click on 'download'
