AIRPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA (AAI) RECRUITMENT FOR JUNIOR EXECUTIVE (AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL)

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, responsible for the construction, operation, and management of civil aviation infrastructure in India. It is one of the largest civil aviation authorities in the world, managing a total of 125 airports across the country, including 23 international airports.

AAI conducts a recruitment exam every year to select candidates for the post of Air Traffic Controller (ATC). The ATC exam is a competitive exam and the selection process is quite rigorous.

VACANCIES IN AIRPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA: -

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced 496 vacancies for the post of Junior Executive (ATC) in 2023. The recruitment notification was released on October 14, 2023, and the online application process will start on November 1, 2023, and close on November 30, 2023.

The scale of pay for AAI ATC is as follows:

• Junior Executive (ATC): Rs. 40,000-3%-140,000
• Senior Assistant (ATC): Rs. 36,000-3%-110,000
• Manager (ATC): Rs. 60,000-3%-180,000

In addition to the basic salary, AAI ATC officers are also entitled to the following allowances:

• Dearness Allowance (DA)
• House Rent Allowance (HRA)
• Transport Allowance (TA)
• Medical Allowance
• Leave Travel Allowance (LTA)
• Performance Related Pay (PRP)

The total salary of an AAI ATC officer will vary depending on their rank, experience, and allowances. However, the average salary of an AAI ATC officer is around Rs. 10-12 lakhs per annum.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR AIRPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA TRAFFIC CONTROL

A) NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIP
A candidate must be either

(i) a citizen of India or

(ii) a subject of Nepal or

(iii) a subject of Bhutan or

(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.  A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection, the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

B) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Full Time Regular Bachelors Degree of three years in Science (B.Sc.) with Physics and Mathematics.

OR

Full Time Regular Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any discipline. (Physics & Mathematics should be subjects in any one of the semester’s curriculums)

The candidate shall have minimum proficiency in both spoken and written English of the level of 10+2 standard (the candidate shall have passed English as one of the subject in 10th or 12th standard)

Percentage of marks: - Minimum 60% marks or equivalent for Bachelor’s Degree.

Candidates having B.E./B. Tech/ B. Sc. (Engg.) Degree is allowed to apply against the post for which essential qualification is prescribed as Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

No Experience is essential. 

C) AGE (30-11-2023)

• Minimum age – 18 years
• Maximum age – 27 years

There are relaxations in upper age limit for certain categories.

SELECTION PROCESS FOR AAI ATC:-

The AAI ATC Recruitment 2023 selection process will consist of the following stages:

Online Examination: The online examination will be an objective type exam consisting of questions on General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. The exam will be of 2 hours duration and will carry a total of 120 marks.

Voice Test: The candidates who qualify in the online examination will be shortlisted for a Voice Test. The Voice Test is a subjective test and the candidates will be assessed on their voice quality, articulation, and fluency.

Medical Examination: The candidates who qualify in the Voice Test will be called for a Medical Examination. The Medical Examination will be conducted by a panel of doctors and the candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards for the post of Air Traffic Controller.

Final Selection: The final selection of the candidates will be based on their performance in the online examination, Voice Test, and Medical Examination.

The candidates who are finally selected will be appointed as Junior Executives (ATC) in the Airports Authority of India.

AIRPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA APPLICATION FEE:

The application fee for the Airports Authority of India (AAI) Air Traffic Control (ATC) exam 2023 is as follows:

• General and Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates: Rs. 1000
• SC/ST/Females/PwD candidates and apprentices who have successfully completed one year of Apprenticeship Training in AAI: Exempted
