RESERVE BANK OF INDIA - DIRECT RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF OFFICERS IN GRADE B

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Grade B is a national-level exam conducted once a year by the Reserve Bank of India. The aspirants preparing to join the highly esteemed Reserve Bank of India will have to get through two stages (Phase 1 and Phase 2) of the selection process along with the interview phase.

The RBI Grade B post holds a lucrative salary and job profile, one of the main reasons for immense competition. The Reserve Bank of India releases the notification for the Grade B Officers post in the various departments of the Reserve Bank of India every year. RBI GRADE B VACANCY 2024

RBI Grade B vacancy 2024 is disclosed with the notification released by the Reserve Bank of India. This year RBI rolled out a total of 94 vacancies. The Reserve Bank will conduct the registration for the RBI Grade B exam in online mode. Candidates can apply online for the available vacancies by submitting the RBI Grade B application form from 16th August 2024.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

RBI Grade B Officers Exam Eligibility Criteria:

1. Nationality : 

A  candidate must be either :-
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January,1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India,  or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in  India.

2. Age Limits (As on 1st of July 2024):
   A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st of July 2024 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd July 1994 and not later than 1st July 2003. For candidates possessing M.Phil. And Ph.D. qualification, upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years respectively.

3. Educational Qualification (as on 01-07-2024):

1. Officers in Grade B (DR) - (General)
Graduation in any discipline /Equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or Post-Graduation / Equivalent technical qualification with minimum 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters / years.

Note: 

Any such full-time course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken after Class XIIth and is at least of 3 years duration/ candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which are recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional and technical graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination.

Candidates who have passed the Final Examination for Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India may also apply for the post. 

OR   

Any such full-time course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken after graduation and is at least of 2 years duration / recognised by the Government as equivalent to post graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination.

2. Officers in Grade B (DR) - DEPR
Essential: 

a) A Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute.

b) PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR
c) Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute.

Desirable: 

A Doctorate Degree in Economics or research or teaching experience in Economics or publications in standard journals would be considered as an additional qualification.

3. Officers in Grade B (DR) - DSIM
Essential: 

a. A Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years; OR
b. Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an institute of repute; OR
c. M.Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters / years OR
d. Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.
Desirable: 

(i) Candidates with a Doctorate in topics related to above subjects will be given preference.
(ii) Research or teaching experience and publication in standard journals will be considered as an additional qualification.
Candidates possessing M.Phil. And Ph.D. qualification in the specified subjects will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit by 2 years and 4 years respectively.
Candidates with research / teaching experience at a recognized Indian / Foreign University/Institute will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit to the extent of number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For experience, probationary period will not be reckoned.

D) Number of attempts: 
Candidates belonging to unreserved i.e. General Category, who had already appeared Six times for Phase-I Examination for this post in the past, are not eligible to apply. No such restriction applies to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD, if the posts are reserved for them 

SERVICE CONDITIONS/CAREER PROSPECTS:

(i) Pay Scale: Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ₹55,200/-p.m. in the pay scale of Rs. 55200-2850(9)-80850-EB-2850 (2) - 86550-3300(4)-99750 (16 years) applicable to Officers in Grade B and they will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family allowance and Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly gross emoluments are ₹1,08,404/- (approx.) The House Allowance of 15% of Basic Pay will be paid, if accommodation is not provided by the Bank

(ii) Seniority: Candidates selected from separate recruitments for the post of Officer in Gr. B (DR) for General, DEPR, DSIM streams will join the Common Seniority Group and the seniority among these Officers will be fixed according to the ranking worked out by using the standard percentile score of aggregate marks of selected candidates.

(iii) Initial appointment will be on probation for a period of two years.
At Banks discretion, the probationary period may be extended upto a maximum period of four years.
(iv) There are reasonable prospects for promotion to higher grades.
(v) Selected candidates are liable to be posted and transferred anywhere in India.

SCHEME OF SELECTION: Selection for the aforementioned posts will be done through RBI Grade B Officers ONLINE examinations in Phase - I and Phase - II and interview.

APPLICATION FEES (NON-REFUNDABLE):

The application fee shall be applicable based on the candidate's category to fill out the RBI Grade B application form 2024. The table below gives an idea of the application fee for each category.

 Fees once paid will neither be refunded nor be adjusted against any future recruitment projects. 

HOW TO APPLY RBI GRADE B OFFICERS EXAM APPLICATION FORM:- 
Candidates have to apply only RBI Grade B Officers Exam ON-LINE through the Banks website i.e. www.rbi.org.in from started on 25th July 2024 and continue till 16th August 2024 as mentioned in RBI Grade B Notification 2024. Detailed instructions for applying ON-LINE are available on the website. The candidates have to submit online application forms to get registered them self for RBI Grade B Exam 2024. All candidates who are interested to apply for RBI Grade B 2024 exam can fill the online application by clicking on the link given below as the RBI Grade B application process starts.

 Candidates need not submit the system generated print out (hard copy) of the ON-LINE application to the Boards office.

Candidates desirous of applying for posts in both Gr.B (DR)-General and Gr B (DR) DEPR / DSIM (as the case may be) are required to apply using links for both the positions separately and pay the fees for both. 

RBI GRADE B OFFICER SELECTION STAGES

RBI Grade B 2024 exam is divided into a 3-phase of selection process. The phases of the RBI Grade B selection process are as follows:-

• Phase 1 - Online Objective Test: This is the qualifying stage. The marks obtained in this stage won’t contribute to the result. But the applicants need to score well to step up to the next stage of the selection process. It comprises 200 questions to be answered in 120 minutes. There is a sectional timing allotted to each subject.
• Phase 2 - Online Objective Test:  It has a blend of objective and descriptive exams; the same details are mentioned here. There is a separate designated time frame allotted to each section.
• GD and Interview- This is the final stage of the selection process. The addition of the scores obtained in this stage and phase 2 will make up the final results.
