ABOUT EXAM

Combined Medical Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for medical graduates’ recruitment into a variety of Central Government Organisations, and Services. These recruitment examinations occurred within the given rules published by the ‘Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in the Gazette of India.

 UPSC – CMS ELIGIBILITY:

Age Limit

Between 18 and 32 years based on different posts and departments (Relaxation to reserved category)

Nationality

The participating candidate for UPSC-CMS must be either:

• A citizen of India
• A subject of Nepal
• A subject of Bhutan
• A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1^st January, 1962 with the intentions of permanently setting in India
• A person with Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Ease African Countries including Kenya, Uganda, The United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

The candidates belonging to above categories should be a person whose eligibility certificates has been issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification

Candidate participating for UPSC-CMS must have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S Examination.

• The participating candidate who has appeared or has yet to appear in final M.B.B.S examination will be admitted in the examination, but the admission would be deemed to be provisional and subject to cancellation if they’re not able to produce the proof of their passing in written, and practical part of the final M.B.B.S Examination along with the detailed application which they have to submit to the Commission.
• A UPSC-CMS candidate who has yet to complete their compulsory internship after their final examination in MBBS is eligible for examination, but he/she have will be appointed only after he/she has completed the compulsory rotating internship.

Physical and Medical Standards: UPSC-CMS participating students must be physically & mentally fit according to the given medical guidelines.

#NOTE: The participating candidates are required to apply through online mode only. No other mode is allowed for the submission of UPSC-CMS application.

APPLICATION FEE FOR UPSC-CMS EXAMINATION:-

•  Female/ SC/ ST/ PH candidates don’t have to pay any fee.  
• Students have to pay through Visa/ MasterCard/ RuPay – Credit/Debit Card or have to deposit the fee in any Branch of SBI by cash.

Withdrawal facility:  The UPSC commission has also introduced withdrawal facility for those students who do not want to appear for any combined medical services examination.

SELECTION PROCEDURE: -

Candidates who shortlist through the Written Examination and Interview. Only the candidates whose application form accepted successfully can attempt this exam. Primarily applicants have to qualify Written Examination to become eligible for next two selection stage.
