UPPSC Preliminary Examination: -
The first stage of the UP-PCS exam is the Prelims. This exam is conducted to screen the best candidates to appear for the Mains exam. UPPSC Prelims pattern comprises two papers: General Studies 1 and General Studies 2.
#NOTE- General Studies-2 is qualifying in nature.
Summary: The exam will consist of two compulsory examination papers which will be answered on OMR sheets. The exam will be of 200 marks each, and the time duration will be 2 hours. Both the papers will be objective type & multiple choice questions. The no. of questions will be 150 and 100 questions respectively.
UPPSC PAPER 1 - General Studies:
Latest current affairs, national movement, geography of India, National & International level geography, Indian politics and government, Indian economics & social development, Ecology, General science relating with recent occurrences.
UPPSC Paper 2 – General Studies:
Logical reasoning, Interpersonal skills, communication skills, Logical reasoning and analytics ability, Decision making and problem solving, analytical abilities, Elementary
Mathematics up-to Class X level:
UPPSC MAIN (Subject Examination): -
The UPPSC Mains is the 2nd stage of the UPPSC PCS selection process. Candidates who clear the Prelims exam shall be called to appear for the Mains, the most important exam. There shall be 8 papers as per the updated UPPSC exam pattern for Mains.

The Government approved the proposal of removing the optional subject and instead of it, two papers will be introduced in the UPPSC main exam 2023.

UPPSC INTERVIEW ROUND:
This will be the last round of UPPSC examination for the students who have qualified UPPSC-MAINS examination. They will be called for the Personnel Interview round.
