AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST EXAM DETAILS

 The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is an all-India entrance examination conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) twice a year to select eligible candidates for flying branch and ground duty (technical and non-technical branches). The exam is a gateway to a rewarding career in the Indian Air Force.

 Every year, in February and August, the AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST is held. The AFCAT advertisement for the same is released in December and June, respectively.

Participants are welcomed to a variety of courses that will start up for the granting of Short Service Commissions (SSC) in the Flying Branch and Permanent Commissions (PC) and Short Service Commissions (SSC) in the ground duty (Technical or Non-Technical) branches.

 Men and women from India are invited to join the Indian Air Force as Group A Gazetted Officers in the Flying and Ground Duty branches.

 AFCAT or Air Force Common Admission Test exam is conducted by the Indian Air Force for the selection of officers in all branches of the Indian Air Force (except medical and dental) viz.

Flying Branch (Short Service Commission only), and Ground Duty Branch ((Technical and Non-Technical) NCC Special Entry/Meteorology Entry.

AFCAT 2 2024 EXAM –IMPORTANT DATES

On May 30, 2024, the Indian Air Force published the AFCAT exam announcement on the @AIR website. The AFCAT online application procedure will be open from May 30 through June 28, 2024.

AFCAT Exam Vacancy 2024

 The AFCAT 2 vacancy 2024 has been released along with the notification PDF.

For the courses that will be commenced in July 2025, Indian Air Force (IAF) has released 304 vacancies for Flying Branches and Ground-Duty (Non-Technical) Branches. The complete AFCAT 2 Vacancy 2024 for all courses has been tabulated here.

AFCAT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2024

 Before applying for the posts, it is recommended that all candidates check their AFCAT 2 2024 eligibility. The Indian Air Force has established many qualifications for both technical and non-technical posts. Candidates must make sure they meet all eligibility requirements, including the age requirement, nationality, marital status, etc., as failing to do so may result in disqualification at any point during the examination.  Nationality: By the Indian Citizenship Act of 1955, participants must be Indian citizens.

 Marital Status:

 Candidates applying for the AFCAT 2024 exam must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course.

The participant, who marries after the date of his application, even if he or she passes the SSB or medical, will not be permitted to enrol in the course.

Any participant who marries while enrolled in training will be dismissed and must refund the government for all expenses incurred on his behalf.

IAF AFCAT AGE LIMIT 2024

 The age limit for the AFCAT 2024 exam varies based on the branch. Here are the age limits for different branches:

1.   Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as of July 1, 2025.

2.   Technical & Ground Duty Branch: 20 to 26 years as of July 1, 2025.

Candidates must ensure that they meet the age requirements for the specific branch they are applying to. 

AFCAT EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION 2024

AFCAT Type of Commission 2024

 The AFCAT 2024 exam offers two types of commissions: Permanent Commission (PC) for Men and Short Service Commission (SSC) for Men and women. The main difference between the two is the tenure of service.

• Permanent Commission (PC): This offers a long-term career in the Indian Air Force until the officer retires, usually around the age of 60, depending on their physical and mental fitness. It provides job security and the opportunity to advance through the ranks throughout the career.
• Short Service Commission (SSC): This offers a shorter tenure of service, typically around 14 years, extendable up to 20 years. SSC officers are initially engaged for a shorter period, providing them with the advantage of a better balance between their military career and personal life. After the completion of their tenure, SSC officers have the choice to either opt for a Permanent Commission or transition to civilian life.

 These commissions cater to individuals with different career aspirations and provide distinct opportunities and responsibilities.

AFCAT 2 2024 SELECTION PROCEDURE

 The AFCAT 2 2024 selection procedure is a multi-stage process that involves a written exam, physical fitness test, medical examination, and interviews. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria and clear each stage to be considered for final selection.

  The selection procedure for AFCAT 2 2024 consists of the following stages:

1. AFCAT Written Exam: The first stage is the AFCAT written exam, which candidates need to clear to proceed to the next stage.
2. AFSB Interview: Candidates who pass the written exam will be invited to the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) for an interview. The AFSB interview takes place in two stages and includes various tests to assess the candidates' aptitude, psychology, personality, and knowledge.
3. Medical Test: The final stage of the selection process is the medical examination, which is conducted to ensure that the candidates meet the medical standards set by the Indian Air Force.
4. Final Merit List: A final merit list of qualified candidates will be prepared based on their performance in the written exam, AFSB interview, and medical test.

AFCAT HOW TO APPLY 2024

• Once you are on the website, you will need to register for an account. To do this, click on the "New Candidate" link and enter your personal details. You will then be sent an email with a link to activate your account.

 Allotment of AFCAT 2 2024 Centres: Candidates will receive centers according to their preferences as much as possible. Candidates should be aware that requests for a different testing location, time, or date will not be considered. Therefore, candidates should take reasonable caution while selecting the date or time of their choosing for the examination center before completing the form. The AFCAT exam locations could be canceled in any unforeseen circumstance. In this case, the impacted applicants would be given access to other centers. The IAF's decision in this regard will be final, and no appeals will be considered.

AFCAT ADMIT CARD 2024

 IAF applicants must submit their AFCAT application form online using the link IAF (cdac.in), or afcat

 The AFCAT 2024 Admit Card will be released on the official website of the Indian Air Force (IAF) after the application process is completed. Candidates who have successfully submitted their AFCAT application online can download their AFCAT 2024 admit card from the IAF website using their login credentials like email ID and password.

 Here are the steps on how to download the AFCAT 2024 Admit Card:

1. Go to the official website of the Indian Air Force (IAF)
2. Enter your registered email ID and password.
3. Click on the "Login" button.
4. On the candidate dashboard, look for the "Download AFCAT 2024 Admit Card" link.
5. Click on the link and download your admit card.
6. Print out your admit card on an A4-sized paper.

Important Documents to Carry to the Exam Center:

1. AFCAT 2024 Admit Card
2. Valid photo ID proof (original and photocopy)
3. Blue ballpoint pen
4. Original certificates (educational, caste, domicile, etc.) as mentioned in the admit card

Applicants should make sure they meet all requirements for admission before submitting an application for the AFCAT exam. Their admission at all the stages of examination viz. Written examination and SSB test will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

 The IAF will cancel their candidature if verification conducted at any point before or after the written test or the AFSB Testing reveals that they do not meet any of the eligibility requirements.
